Should technical assignments reflect individual student interests?
A technical assignment can become much more engaging when the topic connects with something a student actually wants to understand. While choosing a project topic, I considered custom technical assignments and realized that a focused project gave me more motivation to research and develop my ideas. I also found it easier to stay interested when the problem had a practical connection. Do you think allowing students more topic choices would improve technical coursework?
